A REVIEW OF GOBOAT MELBOURNE
Imagine cruising down a river; glass full of wine in one hand, your favourite go-to snack in the other. The company is amazing, the sun is shining, the views are intriguing, and the hum of city traffic is barely even noticeable. It’s like being on a relaxing holiday, without a care in the world. Just you, your closest friends, a delicious spread of food, and a satisfying beverage to wash it all down.
Can you picture it? This is exactly how we spent a sunny winter’s day with GoBoat Melbourne.
A voyage with a difference, captaining our own cruise up and down the Yarra gave us a sense of calm and privacy in an otherwise bustling city. And it was just this, the calmness, that allowed us to truly take in Melbourne and all of its charm (something I had never really stopped to appreciate before, and something that was quite spectacular when viewed from the water).
Enjoying these ever-changing views as we lazily sipped on beverages, devoured our BYO picnic and giggled our way through the latest group goss, it was actually hard to believe this whole adventure wasn't part of some wonderful getaway.
Safe and easy to use, the time we spent on our self-skippered cruise was full of fun, laughter, hilarious selfies and memories that will last a lifetime. In other words, it had all of the ingredients needed for a successful event. And in combination with a few games, it's an experience that would be perfectly suited to celebrating your best friend's upcoming nuptials.
So whether you’re after a unique bridal shower, a relaxing start to hen party shenanigans, or even an excuse to catch up with friends whilst escaping reality for a few hours, I highly recommend looking into GoBoat Melbourne. And who knows, if you decide to play sea captain for the day I might just see you at the dock – as I can guarantee I will be back for more! GOOD TO KNOW
BYO FOOD & DRINK
BYO food and drink (don't forget the cups, cutlery and napkins, too)! We had a fantastic time digging into our favourite snacks, treats and wine as we made our way down the Yarra. Just keep in mind that there are restrictions on how much alcohol you can take aboard to ensure you and your group remain safe and happy throughout the experience. NO LICENCE OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED No boat licence or previous experience is required to operate these little beauties! Captains must be at least 18 years of age and under the legal limit to sail. 8 PEOPLE PER RIDE Up to 8 people can fit comfortably within these spacious boats. For larger groups, there is also the option of booking multiple boats and cruising the river together. EVERYONE'S WELCOME There are no age restrictions, so everyone from your niece to your grandma can enjoy the celebrations! FUN EXTRAS Coolers with ice, bluetooth speakers, polaroid cameras and a range of other accessories can be hired to take your experience to the next level! ECO-FRIENDLY These boats are eco-friendly. Silent electric motors will guide you down the river without releasing any fumes, and each boat is manufactured using recycled materials. FUR BABIES CAN JOIN THE FUN Does your best friend ADORE her fur baby? GoBoat also allows dogs on board, as long as a lead is used for the dock area! FLEXIBLE CANCELLATION POLICY And finally, you won't have to stress about weather as GoBoat Melbourne has a very flexible cancellation policy. INCORPORATING GOBOAT MELBOURNE IN YOUR BEST FRIEND'S SPECIAL DAY
Love the idea of picnicking on the Yarra whilst enjoying Melbourne from a whole new perspective? Below are some ideas for incorporating this experience into your best friend’s hen party or bridal shower. Just remember, this inspiration is to help get your planning started, and it’s a great idea to add some of your own special touches as well!
BRIDAL SHOWER TIPS:
GIFTS AND BOATS
If guests are bringing along gifts to the bridal shower, we recommend making GoBoat an experience before or after the main event. It can be a way to relax and unwind with your bridesmaids following a day of being spoilt by family and friends, or a wonderful start to celebrations before the gift-giving begins. A SPECIAL SURPRISE Bridesmaids – this could be the perfect opportunity to surprise your best friend on her special day! Following the bridal shower (which could be held at one of the beautiful venues along Southbank or in central Melbourne), you can casually guide your guest of honour to the GoBoat dock. From here you can set sail and enjoy each other's company as you reminisce about the day and get excited about the wedding that is soon to come! HAVE EVERYONE ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE For those who aren't expecting gifts, why not celebrate your entire bridal shower on the high seas?! Fleets of boats can be hired so that everyone on your invite list can enjoy the experience. A unique celebration that would be fondly remembered by all! HEN PARTY TIPS:
BONDING TIME
A fab way to kick off celebrations; organise for guests to meet at the dock and enjoy some wonderful bonding time on-board your GoBoat. It's the perfect opportunity to not only get some food and drink in your stomachs before the night sets in, but also to break the ice (both with the experience itself and some cheeky hen party games)! Following your cruise, there are so many options (dinner and drinks, clubbing, performances, etc.) as the city is literally walking distance from the dock! THEME THE DAY Incorporate the 'sailing' theme in your besties day by having everyone arrive in nautical inspired outfits; where anything from a pirate or a mermaid to captain of the ship would be appropriate! Think of the hilarious moments you will capture on film throughout the day. WANT TO BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE?
