A Review of the Comic's Lounge, Melbourne
Our night at the Comic's Lounge in Melbourne started with some big decisions...
Which dish should we order? And more importantly - bubbles, wine or cocktails? After much discussion, our table was sprinkled with an array of drinks (a mix of all three, for those playing at home), alongside delicious meals (with portion sizes that satisfied even the hungriest of humans... a.k.a. my husband). Before long, our stomachs were full, the room was buzzing and the entertainment began. With a mystery line-up, we had no idea who would be performing that night. The element of surprise adding to the overall fun. And despite not knowing many of the comedians prior to the show, from the moment the MC graced the stage we didn’t stop laughing! In fact, Daniel Connell literally brought tears to my eyes with his hilarious routine #newfavecomedian. Surrounded by a sea of strangers who were genuinely having a great time (and laughing just as hard as we were), the atmosphere at the Comic's Lounge was one of fun, friendliness and happiness. This mood was not only maintained whilst at the venue, but also long after we left. Overall, we found this to be an incredibly entertaining evening filled with tasty food and drinks, cheeky jokes and talented performers. In other words, an experience that would be perfectly suited to a hen's party! So whether your best friend is a comedy buff or someone who just loves to have a laugh, it is well worth checking out The Comic's Lounge and all it has to offer. And the best part? If your bride-to-be (or any of her friends) have been before, it really doesn’t matter – the line-up changes constantly so each visit is unique!

DIFFERENT SHOW OPTIONS When booking tickets, you will have the choice between individual performers or mystery acts (where the line-up is completely unknown to attendees before the night). We personally love the idea of both! A mystery line-up has the element of surprise; which only adds to the excitement of your celebration. Such performances have introduced me to comedians I've not heard of beforehand - comedians that I would now see live in their own shows (because they were THAT good!). On the flip side, if your best friend's favourite funny man/woman happens to be in town around the time of her wedding, securing seats to their show is a fail-proof way to ensure your bestie has an amazing night. SEATS ARE ALLOCATED AS YOU ARRIVE Want to be as close to the action as possible? We recommend getting there early! The Comic's Lounge operates on a first come, first serve basis - meaning seats are filled from front to back as people arrive. An added benefit to an early arrival? This provides time for dinner, drinks and pre-show chats - the perfect way to get the party started! YOU WON'T GO HUNGRY Dig into some snacks, main meals, desserts and/or drinks whilst at the Comic's Lounge. Friendly wait staff will provide service direct to your table before and during the show. You can also grab a cheeky drink from the bar whenever you feel a bit parched! YEAR-ROUND LAUGHTER Whilst the Melbourne Comedy Festival only fills a month or so in the calendar, the Comic's Lounge brings the giggles all year round. Meaning whether your best friend is getting hitched in Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring; a hilarious night out still awaits you and your crew!
