NAILED IT (QUICK OVERVIEW)
A fun hen party game that will teach you a new trick or two, 'Nailed It' is played by mimicking an expert demonstration of a simple or unusual task. This task could be anything from raising one eyebrow or decorating a cupcake, to shimmying! The kicker? You only have 1 minute to re-enact what was shown. The person or team who makes the most accurate attempt (and, if you wish, the funniest attempt), wins. Don't have an 'expert' within your guest list to demonstrate a task? Good ol' YouTube videos make for the perfect back up option!

Once you have your experts lined up (aim for at least two or three if you can), it's time to get the supplies sorted.
Supplies will differ depending on what the talents are (e.g. if your expert is sculpting your bride-to-be out of playdough, you will need to make enough playdough for each team to have a crack + some for the expert's demonstration). If you have three experts, your guests will be split into teams of 3, two experts and your guests will be split into teams of 2, etc. (so you will need to stock up on supplies accordingly).
Before everyone arrives, set up some tables in an area that everyone can gather around. Have your supplies sorted and ready to go.
PLAYING 'NAILED IT':
When it comes time to play, take aside your experts and bride-to-be. Split remaining guests into teams (as mentioned above, this will depend on the number of experts you have. If there are two experts, guests must have two people per team; three experts, guests must have three people per team, etc.).
Now it's time for those hidden talents to shine!
- Expert number 1 starts the game by demonstrating their talent to the group (make sure you have the timer going, because it must be done in one minute!)
- When the expert has finished their demonstration, it's time for guests' to have a turn.
- Each team picks one member to complete the first task.
- The 'chosen one' from each team makes their way to the front of the party (where the tables & supplies are waiting), ready to get their talent on.
- When the siren goes (or you yell 'START!') they do their best to mimic what the expert has just shown them (cue much laughter).
- Once the minute is up, your beautiful bride-to-be gets to award one point (this could be for the funniest attempt, the most accurate attempts, etc.)
- The expert also gets to award one point (to the person whose final result is closest to the original demonstration).
Keep playing rounds, as mentioned in the above paragraph, until all experts have strutted their stuff and all team members have had a turn at mimicking one of the talents. The team with the most points at the end is the winner.
Handy Hint:
If there's a draw, come up with a fun tie-breaker (such as 'pretend to be our beautiful bride-to-be for 10 seconds!). Your bride can then choose the overall winner!
Alternative Ways to Play 'Nailed It'
WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
Some guests don't like having the spotlight on them, getting up in front of a crowd, etc. And whilst they won't be alone in front of the group for this game (all 'chosen members' will be up front at the same time), they may find it a bit confronting having the rest of the party watching their every move. To fix this problem, have teams compete as a whole team rather than sending one person up per expert. It will be a little more chaotic, but just as hilarious!
Alternatively, if someone is really uncomfortable with the thought of participating in this game, let them sit it out. They could play photographer/videographer or even get involved in the judging. The extra mementos will be well-loved by your bride-to-be.
YOUTUBE
If you can't find any 'experts' within your guest list, you can still play this game. Before the party, find and save a few videos from YouTube that can be replayed in front of the group; these videos will be your 'experts'. Just be aware that some sort of device will be needed to play the videos on, and the screen must be large enough for the entire party to view at the same time (they can't recreate what they can't see, after all).
