TRUTH OR DARE GAME INSTRUCTIONS:
It's the classic party game... with an epic twist!

To play, hand out pens and paper to each party goer. Ask that they all write down one truth or dare for the bride-to-be to complete during the celebration. Before taking their pieces of paper back, ask that they also sign their name at the bottom (I mean, the hen needs to know who got her into this mess in the first place - it's only fair).

Now for the fun part.

Once you've collected the truth or dare papers from each of your guests, announce to the group that they are actually completing the truth/dare they wrote down for the bride-to-be, WITH the bride-to-be! Have your wonderful hen read out each of the cards, letting the group know who she will be completing each task with as she goes - cue endless giggles.

Worth Noting:

Your bride-to-be has the option to 'pass' if she wishes (just think of a fun 'punishment' for when this happens!).

Also, this game is supposed to be some harmless fun; you don't want people taking it too far. If there are truth or dares that make the bride uncomfortable (or that you don't think are appropriate), take them out.

Friends should look out for each other and this shouldn't be an issue, but if you're worried about what the group may write, consider hosting the game using the 'PRE-PLANNED' or 'SPIN THE BOTTLE' method instead (outlined in the next section below).

Alternative Ways to Play Truth or Dare

BACK TO BASICS:
Rather than changing up the rules (as outlined above), go back to basics and play this game as it was originally intended. How truth or dare is played depends on your group - but usually guests write down questions and/or actions (that is, truth or dares) for your hen to complete one by one throughout the night.

Handy Hint:
Stagger the truth/dare cards so that she's not copping it all at once! And don't forget to bring along a special prize for your best friend - the perfect surprise for when she finally makes it through all of the challenges.

SCRATCH & ...WIN?!
As in the instructions above, each guests writes down one truth and one dare for the bride-to-be. But in a fun twist, these are then covered up with a cheeky 'scratch to reveal' sticker (as pictured below). What will the bride-to-be attempt next? Nobody knows!

PRE-PLANNED:
For those of you who want some control over what your beautiful hen will be put through on her night of nights, this option is perfect.

Print off or write down some good truth and dare options. Place each individual card in its own envelope (or fold it up so that the words cannot be seen), and then drop them into a bowl.

As guests arrive, ask them to pick one out - but explain that they are not to open their selection until later.

Once everyone is there, gather the group together and make the announcement that the envelopes actually contain truth/dare cards - and the one they picked from the bowl is the truth/dare they must complete with the bride-to-be at some point during the party.

Have each guest read out their card to the giggling group!

SPIN THE BOTTLE:
To prepare, create game cards that feature one truth and one dare each (this means players can choose the option they're most comfortable with when it's their turn). If you wish, you can also make up some 'safe' cards (i.e. the person who gets these doesn't have to complete a truth or dare at all).

Make sure there are enough cards as there are guests attending the party. Place them all into individual envelopes ready for the big day.

To play, use the envelopes to create a circle and place one bottle (wine that you've already polished off works a treat) in the middle.

The first player 'spins the bottle'. opening the envelope that it ends up pointing to (or the closest to it). They then have three choices: do the dare, talk the truth, or pass. If they pass, give them a pre-prepared penalty (such as doing an impression of the hen) and move on to the next player.

Great Truth or Dare Questions

The best truth questions ignite curiosity and often lead to exciting, unique and weird stories (all of which will be listened to intently). Good dares, on the other hand, will become a talking point of the game (for all the right reasons!). Keep dares fun, funny and interesting; meaning guests won't dread their turn, but will rather embrace the next silly thing to come their way.

Handy Tip:
Consider your audience when putting together questions. Keep it light-hearted and PG for the classier occasion, and a bit more risqué for those naughty events!
