A great way to kick off celebrations - a bridal shower raffle adds a sense of anticipation and excitement to the day! Anyone who wants to be part of the fun simply has to purchase a ticket (or, if you're going the cashless option, win a ticket through certain behaviours - such as telling funny stories, dancing the day away, or winning games). At the end of the shower, draw the raffle. This will reveal the lucky winner (who gets to take home an INCREDIBLE prize after claiming victory!). Want to mix things up a little? ​How to Organise a Fun & Memorable Bridal Shower Raffle

​YOU WILL NEED:
Raffle tickets, some great bridal shower prizes, and a way to store the money (piggy bank, cash tin, actual bank account).



​PREPARATION:

The Raffle Tickets:
​Start by preparing your bridal shower raffle tickets. These could be store-bought (often local grocery stores or milk bars will have them in stock), numbered slips of paper, or a template that suits your theme (this option can be DIY or purchased - there are LOTS of beautiful raffle ticket templates on Etsy that are perfect for this).

The Prizes:
The more thought you put into this step, the more likely party-goers are to participate. A prize that captures your attention, a prize that you actually want to win - that's what gets people excited! So when brainstorming, it's a great idea to consider the following:

• The type of event: ​are you hosting a relaxed tea party? Perhaps bundling up some of these luxe tea inspired items will make for the ultimate prize. Hosting a boozy brunch? Some wine bottles and a thoughtful gift card could be the way to go. A garden party? Why not raffle off a beautiful bouquet of flowers? As you can see - thinking about the type of celebration your hosting, and the overall 'vibe' you're going for, can really help with inspiring ideas.
  
  
• Age range: is everyone attending around the same age? Are there youngsters in the crowd? Or grandparents? Keep this detail in mind when sourcing items.​

• Budget: how do you plan on getting these items? Will you be purchasing them new? Asking for donations? Or searching for treasures at local thrift stores? Either way, it's a good idea to set a budget and stick to it.

The Pricing:
The price range for tickets will depend heavily on the prizes you have to offer. When working out the 'best fit price', think about your audience, the value of your prize, and how much you hope to raise. This info will be extremely helpful when working out what to charge.

Personally, we like to price tickets between the $1 and $5 mark; and then offer discounts for bulk purchases (such as 1 ticket for $2 or 5 tickets for $8). This makes it an affordable and fun activity for everyone :)

If you'd rather not charge for tickets at all, hand them out during the celebration for particular categories instead (such as winning games or telling hilarious stories). More on this option further down!

The Invites
If tickets need to be purchased, be sure to give guests a heads up on their invitations - that way they can bring cash to participate if they wish.

THE RAFFLE IN ACTION
Phew, that was a lot of work. But now for the fun part: the raffle itself! 

With the prize/s in clear view, give party goers a rundown on what the raffle is for (that is, raising money for the happy couple's honeymoon, or to help them get a head start in married life), and how it will work (you purchase a ticket and, if your number is drawn out, you get your hands on a wicked prize!). 

From here, it's a matter of selling tickets to willing participants, drawing the raffle at a set time, and presenting the lucky winner (or WINNERS) with their goodies. 

Alternative Ways to Host a Raffle at Your Event

​A RAFFLE IN REVERSE
A fun game that gets more exciting as it goes! Before playing, guests purchase one (or more) numbered tickets. From here, the raffle is drawn every 10, 20 or 30 minutes (depending on how long the event goes for). But in complete contrast to typical raffles, you DON'T want your number to be called first. For with this game, it's the LAST number left in the bowl that gains winner's status!

Alternative:
Rather than purchasing numbers, party goers purchase a song from a set playlist. To kick things off, put the list on 'shuffle' and press 'play'. If you hear your song, you are out of the game. If you have the LAST song to be played, you are crowned the WINNER!



​CASHLESS RAFFLE:
Have some light-hearted fun, minus the cash, by handing out raffle tickets throughout the event for particular 'categories'. These could be 'dancing queen', 'selfie queen', 'best dressed', 'funniest story teller', 'game winners' and so on. Be sure to award each of your bridal shower guests a ticket at some point; we want everyone to be in on it by the end.

When the event is winding up, draw the raffle. The winner will leave with a lovely yet simple prize  (such as chocolates, baked goods, or even mini bottles of wine) and a VICTORIOUS smile!



​RAFFLE RATHER THAN GIFTS
​If the happy couple have already set up their home, a raffle may be a good alternative to the usual bridal shower gifts. Not only will this save guests time and money (raffle tickets aren't that expensive), but it's also super fun (who doesn't love winning things!).

At the end of the shower, the bride-to-be will be gifted the money raised, which can be put towards her honeymoon or a special date night with her amazing partner.



MYSTERY PRIZES
It's a lucky dip, for adults! Wrap up a few different prizes; allowing 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place to choose an option at random. What they win will be revealed before everyone's eyes as each 'winner' opens their gift.
