As we're approaching the end of 2019, many of us are wondering about the next big trends that are waiting around the corner. For all of those couples planning on getting married in 2020, wedding trends play a huge part in their decision-making process. However, before they walk down the aisle and marry their future hubby, brides-to-be need to play their hen do or bachelorette party. A great way to have fun and enjoy with your girls before saying I do, planning out your hen party can be a lot of fun and gives you the perfect excuse to spend the whole day (or weekend) simply relaxing, indulging or just enjoying mimosas with your besties.
HEN DO IDEAS: PREDICTIONS FOR 2020
When it comes to some of the biggest hen party trends for 2020, we'll be seeing a range of interesting approaches to organising these fun-filled parties.
DESTINATION HEN PARTIES
For starters, destination hen parties are gaining in popularity, with many brides-to-be and their friends eager to pack their bags for a fun weekend getaway rather than staying in the city and celebrating. It's a unique and unusual experience that offers you a chance to spend the day exploring new places; with Ibiza, Marbella, London and Prague being among the top 10 destinations for hen parties. Whether you enjoy clubbing, boutique shopping, eating at fine restaurants, or singing your heart out at fun karaoke nights, they're perfect locations to throw a hen's celebration.
Other than these European cities, Australian brides-to-be can opt for a variety of hen party packages and take their bride tribes to the Gold Coast, Sydney, Byron Bay, or Melbourne. To take some stress out of the process, Aussie brides are more often hiring hens companies to organise these parties; having everything from transportation and accommodation, to food, drinks and activities taken care of.
THEMED HEN PARTY
A themed night on the town is another popular hen party trend that will extend well into the next year, only the themes are going to be more innovative that what we're used to seeing.
For example, a twist on the popular music festival Coachella, 'Henchella' is the next big thing we're expecting in 2020. Many of us would love to visit this huge event, so, why not make it a theme of your bachelorette party? Get all of the accessories such as hats, cowboy boots, denim and band tees, and spruce things up with flower crowns and fringes for an epic night out.
You could also celebrate one of the all-time favourite TV shows, F.R.I.E.N.D.S., and dress up as your favourite characters. Go down memory lane by talking about your favourite episodes and share your favourite quotes from this epic sitcom.
The same goes for Harry Potter fans - you can form teams by having each member of the bride tribe select their house, and then enjoy a game of Quidditch, prep cocktails that look like potions, or come up with fun quiz questions. Don't forget the decorations, either! Stock up on themed mugs, tees, pyjamas and other merchandise to complete your themed hens party.
AT HOME HEN PARTIES
Last but not least, another hen party trend we're expecting to see more of in 2020 are at-home hen parties. These types of parties are getting quite popular, and it's easy to see why. They are relatively inexpensive to organise, there are no additional costs such as transportation and reservations, and you also get to do it in the comfort of your home. Decorations, food and drinks can all be ordered online and delivered to your doorstep, and you can rely on catering companies to do the work for you and deliver delicious meals and finger food (meaning you have more time for other aspects of party planning).
Use balloons, bunting and flowers to transform your home into a hen party haven, and make sure you've got all the props for a perfectly instagrammable night with your gal pals. You can give yourselves makeovers, have a chocolate-making party, hire a mixologist for a cocktail class, or enjoy a pamper party - it all boils down to your personal taste and preferences.
When it comes to bachelorette parties, next year will be all about indulging in fun and exciting activities while also taking a unique approach to planning. Whether you choose a weekend getaway with your bride tribe, a themed party at a local venue, or an at-home, fun-filled night with the girls, the most important thing is to make sure this night is special, memorable and hassle-free. Use some of these hen party ideas to celebrate entering the next chapter in life - you're sure to have a blast and make beautiful memories that you'll cherish long after you've said the fateful Yes!
