Fun hen party ideas for every type of bride
AUTHOR: HARPER REID
Are you planning a Hen’s party for a beloved gal pal and bride-to-be, but aren’t sure whether the classic feather-boa blowout will be her bag? That’s no matter, because for every type of bride, it’s possible to find an activity which suits – and we’ve put together the following Hen’s
party ideas to help you do just that.

ONE: FOR THE CLASSIC BRIDE - A COCKTAIL-MAKING NIGHT

For the bride who loves a good drink and just wants to revel in her pre-marital freedom on her Hen’s, a cocktail night is just the thing. It’s different enough that it’ll be interesting for the other guests as an activity, but it’ll still offer all the opportunities for vodka, fun & games, and dancing as your classic Hen’s party.
Cocktail Making Class

TWO: FOR THE PHILANTHROPIC BRIDE - ORGANISE A CHARITY EVENT

If you’re lucky enough to be hosting a party for a charitable gem of a bride, then why not play on the philanthropic theme? Rather than indulging and spoiling the star of the night in a way that makes her feel uncomfortable, consider organizing an event such as a fun run on her behalf and putting the money raised toward a charity that you know she loves to support. You can get local businesses and organizations on board, and set up a personalised gazebo as a fun custom shelter for the event.

Your gal pal will be touched by the gesture, and the whole gaggle of hens will rest easy knowing they’ve contributed to a cause bigger than just themselves

THREE: FOR THE FILM-BUFF BRIDE - A SCREENING

If your chief Hen is even remotely keen on the big screen, then you may want to contemplate booking out a local boutique cinema for the night. Organising a private screening of one of her fave films means that you can also theme the party, getting attendees to dress up as characters from the movie. Get some wine and a cheese platter in the mix, and you’ll have all the ingredients for an excellent Hen’s.

FOUR: FOR THE FOODIE BRIDE - COOKERY CLASS

Some brides love to engage in collaborative activities with their friends – and pretty much all brides love to eat. Booking in the whole group for a cookery class is thus a way to ensure that everyone in the party works and chats together (especially important if you’re blending different friendship groups), and a way to gastronomically delight the foodie bride.

FIVE: FOR THE QUIETER BRIDE - SPA OR TEA PARTY

Some brides are the quieter type, and would much prefer a smaller gathering out of sight of prying eyes over a full-scale shindig. For these lovely ladies, a spa or tea party is just the thing.

Spa days or weekends away promise luxury, rest, and deep and meaningful chats for all. Since wedding stress is probably ramping up for your bride-to-be, she might far prefer a day or two of relaxation to a booze-filled weekend. It’s the same kind of deal with tea parties: with dainty scones and a never-ending supply of tea, it’s sure to be a civilised and delicious occasion, and the best thing about tea parties is that everyone’s welcome (mums, mothers-in-law, even the flower girls).

SIX: FOR THE BEACH LOVING BRIDE - PLAN A TROPICAL GETAWAY

Why not extend a single Hen’s night into a proper getaway weekend? Whether it’s the nearest beach or tropical destination further afield, organizing a Hen’s weekend away is a guaranteed treat for all the girls. For particularly adventurous brides, you can even tee up a whole schedule full of activities like scuba diving, ziplining, and jetboating – all with a generous allowance for cocktails on the beach, of course!

Looking for hens night ideas at home? Here's all the inspiration you need!
AUTHOR: BEC OF 'FOR EVERY HEN'
So, you've made the decision to host a hen party or bridal shower at home. There are so many positives in this choice; from saving money on food and alcohol, to the ease of getting guests home after the event.

Now your next challenge is planning the actual celebration. And this can be tricky (hence the reason you're probably searching for hens night ideas at home in the first place!).

Whilst you always have fun catching up at each other's houses, this upcoming get together is different. After all, it's for an extremely special occasion, celebrating a HUGE milestone in your best friend's life.

So what are you going to do?

To help you decide, I've put together a list of tips, tricks and activity ideas that will guarantee an incredible party... without leaving the house!

Handy Hint: Some activity ideas include their own blogs for additional information (you will see their images as you scroll through this article). These blogs are to help with your planning - if you like the sound of a particular activity, click the image and learn more about it!

BRIDAL SHOWER & HENS NIGHT IDEAS AT HOME

ADULT SCAVENGER HUNT
A hens scavenger hunt basically involve teams’ making their way through a list of tasks and completing as many as they can (such as ‘pose like a statue in the middle of the town’ or ‘find a man who looks like the groom and get a photo with him’). Therefore, if you’re hosting the event at home, you will need to stroll down to the local township or pub to get the most out of this activity (which is perfect if the girls need to stretch their legs or need a change of scenery!).

AFRICAN DRUMMING
If you're searching for a truly unique activity that will come to you, take a look at Interactive African Drumming! You will create lifelong memories through the fun, laughter and bonding experienced during the day. Plus it's something she would never expect (and has probably never tried before)!

CAKE (OR DESSERT) TASTING PARTY
For any bride-to-be with a sweet tooth, this would be a dream come true!

To organise, ask guests to bring along their favourite cake or dessert (whether this be homemade or bought is entirely up to them). On the day, set up some long tables covered in white table-cloths and, as guests arrive, place their cakes/desserts on display (the colours will really pop against the white backdrop!).

The way in which you host the party from here on is your choice. Whether it's a free-for-all (i.e. people grab some cake or dessert when they feel like it) or has more structure to it (i.e. one-by-one you make your way through each of the options as a group), a lot of sugar will be consumed, and a lot of fun will be had!

Pair this activity with a 'sweet as can be' theme (e.g. bright colours, lolly bags, sweet wines, etc.) and you have the basis for a great celebration!

Check out this gorgeous ice-cream balloon DIY - perfect for decorating this type of event.

CARICATURE ARTIST
Hire a caricature artist and get entertainment and souvenirs all in one! Your guests will love watching and giggling as they each have their very own cartoon drawn; the perfect option for a G-rated and entertaining celebration!

CLASSIC SLEEPOVER
Remember the days of staying up all night with your closest fal pals? Giggling, talking about boys, watching movies, eating as much junk food as humanly possible and generally having the BEST time?

If your bride-to-be isn't keen on hitting the town, but would rather spend some quality time with her friends - consider a good old fashioned sleepover - full of games, chick flicks, food and fun.

To pull it off, fill your lounge room with mattresses, cushions, blankets, lollies, chocolates, dressing gowns, champagne, wine, board games, movies and more. Want to splurge and make it a little more special? Consider hiring a beautiful hotel room or house for the special occasion.
To pull it off, fill your lounge room with mattresses, cushions, blankets, lollies, chocolates, dressing gowns, champagne, wine, board games, movies and more. Want to splurge and make it a little more special? Consider booking a beautiful hotel room where you can enjoy room service; or hire a house in a stunning location and make a weekend out of it!

CLOTHES SWAP PARTY
Inform guests' that they are going to be taking part in a clothes swap party via their hens night or bridal shower invitations. Specify only clean clothes that are in good condition can be brought along (nobody wants your old rags!), and some sort of bag to carry your new party clothes home is also desirable.

Once everyone has arrived at the party, hand each guests one token per item of clothing they have brought (in other words, if they have three items for the clothes swap, they receive three tokens in return). Once tokens have been given out and clothes have been placed around the venue for everyone to see, it's time to get the party started!

Use a fair system (such as pulling numbers out of a hat) to decide who goes first, second, third, etc. and limit the number of items each guest can swap per turn to one or two (meaning those who don't get to take part in the clothes swap until later will still have the chance to grab some nice outfits as not everything will be gone).

This party is great fun in itself, however adding delicious food platters, wine and other beverages, a million photos, a couple of games to break up the event and, of course, some fashion shows with your new outfits is what makes it memorable!

Handy Hint: make cute tokens using your bride-to-be's photo by printing off lots of mini pictures and mounting them onto card!

COMEDY HYPNOTIST
A fantastic and unique option that many don't consider - most hypnotists will be happy to put on a hilarious and memorable show right in your living room!

As Comedy Hypnotist Gerard V says, "Seeing your aunt doing a fantastic air-guitar solo can be a life changing experience, and a memory that will stay with you. The photos on social media will bring back a smile in later years."

DANCE PARTY
Hire a local dance instructor to bring the moves to your celebration! Any hen who loves a good boogie will jump at the chance to get her dance on with her favourite girls. The best part? The choreography you learn as a group can be used as a surprise 'flash mob' dance at the wedding!
Hen party dance classes

FOOD TRUCK PARTY
The perfect option for any foodie hen - food trucks are a fun and unique way to get your hunger (and thirst) fix. Being replicas or refurbishments of vintage trucks and caravans, they're often quite stunning to look at PLUS they also make amazing backdrops for selfies or any other piccies you may snap during the event.

If you're interested in hosting your very own food truck festival (or even hiring one or two for fun), click here for some great tips.

HOST AN AT HOME PAMPER PARTY
With your best friend's wedding just around the corner, she's sure to be going through a range of emotions. Whether she's excited, stressed or somewhere in between, a little pampering definitely won't go astray!

How much you spend on this option is entirely up to you.

With hair, make-up and massage businesses more than happy to come to your venue, it's easy to put together a professional experience that guests will adore. Whilst it can get pricey, this option also means you don't have the added pressure on the day of running activities yourself.

Alternatively, a DIY pamper session with the girls can be just as fun. Ask everyone to bring their own dressing gowns/robes, set up pamper stations around the house/venue (such as nails, massage, facials, foot spas filled with rose petals, etc.), and hand out gorgeous little goodie bags filled with chocolates or chocolate coated strawberries and beautiful beauty products. You could also ask the girls if they're interested in putting in some money to organise for one professional to come out and treat your bride-to-be (and the rest of the group) alongside your DIY options.

Whichever way you decide to go, combined with a girly sleepover full of food, wine, games, movies and giggles; you're definitely onto a winner!

Handy Hint for you DIYers: print off DIY facial recipes that you can make as a group (with drinks in hand, of course!). It will get everyone mingling, so makes for the perfect ice-breaker activity when you have a number of guests who don't know one another.

INFLATABLE FUN
If your house or venue has a large enough outdoor space, inflatable games such as bubble soccer could be a fantastic addition to your party!

If you do decide to include such an activity, make sure you give your guests a heads up via their hens party invitations. You don’t want girls arriving in high heels and skirts if they’re going to be running around in large zorb balls at some point during the day!

INTUITIVE PARTY
Is your bride-to-be curious about psychics, chakra healing, mediums, etc.? Then an at home intuitive party could be just what she's after.

Filled with games and activities such as oracle cards, tarot card reading, pendulums, tea leaf interpretation, intuitive trees and more; this is a party where your hen and guests alike will learn so much about themselves and one another.

If you would like to learn more about intuitive parties, click here. Already sold on the idea? For some great tips on planning and executing your own intuitive style party, click here.
Intuitive Parties

KARAOKE PARTY
For the hen who loves to sing, why not hire a karaoke machine and have yourself an in-house karaoke party! For even more fun, set a theme for the celebration (such as the 90s) and have guests come dressed to impress.

Handy hint: Make a competition by including a different character and song on each invite. For example, one invitation might specify: 'Character - Geri from the Spice Girls, Song - Wannabe by the Spice Girls'. That particular guest then has to come dressed as the character on their invitation and sing the song from their invitation. Have prizes for best dressed, best singer, worst singer, best performance, etc.!

LASER TAG
For high-tech hide and seek in your very own backyard, hire some laser tag equipment, decorate the backyard with fun obstacles and have guests attend in their best army inspired outfits! With so many fun games to play, you're sure to have an absolute blast!

LEARN HOW TO MAKE COCKTAILS
Cocktail making classes are a mobile activity option for those who want to enjoy delicious, high quality beverages in the comfort of their own home (whilst learning some handy tricks at the same time)!

Don't have the money to spend on a mobile class? Instead, consider either providing numerous bottles of spirits (or asking each guest to bring along one bottle each) and some mixers, printing off some fun cocktail recipes and letting the girls go crazy making their own concoctions!

For added flair, make it a 'cocktail party' theme and have guests arrive in their finest attire.

MURDER MYSTERY PARTY
Add a bit of mystery to the celebration by hosting a Murder Mystery night! It will take a bit to put together, and you'll need a guest list willing to get involved (as costumes are a must!); but the fun you'll have will be worth every bit of preparation!

Night of Mystery specialise in these parties, so for more detailed information visit their website by clicking here!

PERSONAL CHEF
A great way to kick off an amazing night in is by having a beautiful meal prepared by your own Personal Chef! Who doesn't want to eat restaurant quality food in the comfort of their home with their nearest and dearest right there with them?!
Personal chef for your hen party

PHOTO BOOTH
If your budget allows for photo booth hire, definitely consider it!

Photo booths provide lasting, hilarious memories; and the guest of honour often receives a digital copy of every single picture following the event (plus a guest book)!

Can't justify spending money on this or want to save your dollars for a different activity? You don't have to go without.

Create your own party photo booth by putting together a backdrop (such as streamers or fabric strips - click here for more ideas) next to a basket of props and dress ups. Guests can then use their phones or a provided instant camera to take funny shots of each other throughout the event.

Handy Hint: If you have a selfie stick, set it up in front of the backdrop so that guests' can easily take photos of themselves on timer! It's also a good idea to link any props to your overall theme (e.g. if it's an Angel themed party, provide props such as wings, wands, halos, white feather boas, white hats, etc.).
Photo booth props

POOL PARTY
Is one of the bridesmaids in your group lucky enough to have a house with a pool? Then you should definitely consider a pool party! Think lounge chairs, cocktails, inflatable pool toys, pool games (i.e. volleyball), music and more!

For those after a cheeky touch, consider hiring some topless waiters to serve food and drinks whilst you enjoy yourselves in the water.

PUPPETRY FUN
If you’re after a cheekier soiree (with a twist!), ‘Puppetry of the Penis’ will bring the laughs with an entertaining and creative show – in your very own home! Use it to begin your celebrations (thus providing plenty of conversation for the rest of the night) or as a hilarious surprise for your bride-to-be midway through the event (she definitely won’t see it coming!).

SECRET GARDEN PARTY
The perfect option for any lover of the outdoors; garden parties provide a beautiful backdrop, fresh air, a relaxing atmosphere and, best of all, you don’t have to worry about cleaning up any spills (in other words, no red wine stains on white carpet!).

Incorporate furniture, picnic rugs, platters, and jumbo sized activities (such as giant jenga) alongside some typical hen party games, and you’ll have a celebration that will be remembered for all of the right reasons.

For tips on planning an incredible outdoor bridal shower, click here.

STRIPPERS
For the cheekier hen that is after a little bit of nudity, consider hiring a surprise stripper! Trust me, the sound of ‘Pony’ beginning to play, followed by a fireman appearing in the room is a sure-fire way to get the girls giggling, yelling and more!

Private shows can be easily booked for your house or venue in most locations, and whilst it does cost a pretty penny, it’s a great way get party-goers up and about!

TOPLESS WAITERS
If your hen isn't that keen on strippers, but still wants a cheeky edge to her celebration, topless waiters are the way to go. Friendly and helpful, most topless waiters are more than happy to host (or even participate in) games, hand out food and drinks, entertain guests and more!
Games to play with your topless waiter

WINE TASTING AT HOME
For a more sophisticated affair, wine tastings are a fantastic opportunity to not only learn about the different wines on offer, but to get a taste of them too!

Whether you ask your guests to bring a bottle of wine each and host your own version of a tasting, or hire a professional who can lead you through it, this type of event is always a great way to get guests chatting, learning and having fun.

THE DECORATIONS

Now that you have the activities under control, it's time to start thinking about the rest of your event (namely decorations, food and drinks). To get you started, I've listed some handy tips and tricks below:

For starters, create the perfect atmosphere with any of the following hen party and bridal shower decorations:
  • Photographs of your bride-to-be and all of her friends
  • Special details/little facts about the bride and groom to be's relationship (e.g. date they met, where they met, how long they've been together, how he proposed, etc.)
  • Gorgeous flowers throughout the house in vases or glass jars
  • Stunning table cloths and/or runners
  • Beautiful fabric bunting and garlands
  • Giant balloons
If you're hosting a themed event, make sure your decor (and food/drinks) tie into it. For example, a 'Cops and Robbers' theme would suit black and whit decorations, donuts, milk drinks, chocolate coins, etc.; whereas a sophisticated summery theme would be best decorated with gorgeous flowers, greenery, wooden objects, etc.
Summer party ideas

THE PARTY FOOD

There are a few ways you can go about feeding the hoards!

If the hen party is in-between lunch and dinner, serving platters of fruits, cheese, crackers and cold meats is a great way to keep the hunger at bay; as is serving easy finger food such as mini sausage rolls, small sandwiches, fruit skewers, chocolates, mini muffins, cupcakes, hot chips, etc.
Finger food ideas for your hens party
Need something a little more filling?

Consider a BBQ with baked potatoes and salads, or delicious take-away from a nearby shop (pizza is always a great option, bonus points if they deliver!).

If you don't want to stress about good on the day/night at all, there's also the option of hiring a catering company to take care of it for you, or having a personal chef come in to WOW your bride-to-be and her friends.

For those of you who need to stick to a tighter budget (and don't really enjoy cooking for a large group), there's also the option of a 'Pot Luck Dinner'. Simply pick a theme that your bride-to-be will enjoy (say, Italian), and ask each guest to bring along a plate of food that represents that particular selection. To make sure you have a good variety of food, it's best to assign different courses to guests (e.g. two guests could be assigned 'Italian Desserts', two 'Italian Starters', two 'Italian Beverages', etc.).

No matter how you decide to do it, make sure you cater for everyone involved (pregnant women can't eat soft cheese for example, whilst other guests may be vegetarian); and, most importantly, make sure you serve foods that your bride-to-be absolutely loves!
Picture

THE PARTY DRINKS

For starters, what is your hen's favourite drink in the whole world?

You should serve that. And lots of it!

For everything you do buy, attempt to purchase in bulk as it will save you money. And don't forget to purchase/offer non-alcoholic beverages such as water, juice or even punch.

If you want to base the hens party around cocktails, keep an eye out for specials and buy bottles of spirits when they're at their cheapest. Alternatively, work with guests so that everyone brings a different bottle of spirits with them to the party; placing them at a designated 'bar area' on arrival. Provide mixers (such as juice, lemonade and cola) and cocktail recipes, shakers, glasses, etc. for guests' to create their own masterpieces throughout the event!

Speaking of spirits, let's not forget shots - jelly shots, normal shots, or shots added to food will all go down a treat. For a wonderful gummy bear pop recipe, click here!

GIRLS NIGHT IN PAMPER PARTY

19/9/2018

Girls night in pamper party blog header
AUTHOR: MEL DRIVER OF 'EMBALM SKINCARE'
Planning your wedding can be so stressful and time-consuming it feels like a full-time job in itself.

Why not make your hens party something that will help relieve that stress, rather than add to it? Get the girls together and have a girls night in pamper party.

Set the mood for the night with some relaxing music for your guests to arrive to. Search for ‘Smooth Jazz’ playlists on YouTube or Spotify.

SET THE SCENE

Light some scented candles to give the room a calm atmosphere. Choose scents proven to enhance relaxation, such as lavender or vanilla.

PAMPER IN STYLE

Before your guests arrive, set up stations around the room with:
  • A portable foot spa and towels (add a drop of peppermint oil to the water to leave feet smelling fresh).
  • A table with a bowl of water, some hand scrub and hand towels (if you don’t have a hand scrub available, it’s easy to whip some up with just white sugar and coconut or olive oil).
  • A table with natural hand cream for hand massages. Start at the base of the hand and work your way towards the fingers in slow, concentric circles.
  • A table with nail polishes and cotton tips (depending on how close it is to the wedding day, you will want to make sure the nail polish is the right colour for members of the bridal party and that application is neat and tidy).
Rotate around the stations in pairs or groups.

NEXT UP... A MINI FACIAL

The benefits of a DIY mini facial are endless. It can instantly make your skin look radiant and it helps to keep your skin in optimum health. It’s also a great way to unwind and treat yourself.

STEP 1
Be sure to take your makeup off before you begin your pamper party.

STEP 2: FACIAL STEAMING
Do the facial steaming first to open up pores so that the face mask can penetrate deep and nourish the skin. You can use rooibos, chamomile or green tea. Add 1 tablespoon of loose tea to a bowl, pour over hot water and wait a couple of minutes so you don’t burn your face with the hot steam. When the temperature is right, place your face over the bowl and place a towel over your head.
Do this for about 5 to 8 minutes.

STEP 3: FOLLOW UP WITH A DIY FACE MASK
Cucumber is one of the best kitchen ingredients to soothe, heal, and re-hydrate dry skin. Combined with Greek yoghurt or natural plain yoghurt, you can create an awesome face mask to nourish your skin and make it supple and smooth again!

Yoghurt contains antibacterial and antibiotic properties that help treat bacteria. It deep cleanses, nourishes and softens the skin. Only use plain, unsweetened, and unflavoured yoghurt to avoid any skin irritations and rashes.

Ingredients per person:
½ Cucumber
1 tablespoon yoghurt

Directions:
Blend the ingredients into a puree.

Pat dry with a towel and apply a thick coat of the face mask to your face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. When the time is up, gently rinse off the face mask using lukewarm water.

Pat dry with a soft clean towel.

STEP 4
Apply a hydrating, natural moisturiser.
Pamper party ideas - DIY facials

IF DIY RELAXATION IS NOT YOUR STYLE...

You might prefer to hire a mobile massage service and all take turns having professional massages in a separate room.

HIRE A (TOPLESS) BARTENDER

To add an element of fun to the evening, hire a bartender to come and make cocktails for all the girls or find one who will teach a class on making cocktails with what you have at home.

SNACKS

For a simple, yet indulgent, treat you can’t go past fresh fruit and chocolate fondue. Melt the chocolate slowly in the microwave or on the stove top, with the chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Prepare and serve in a bowl right before it’s time to eat. Fruits like strawberries, banana pieces and apple slices will always be winners here, but you can experiment with others like pineapple and pear. Have separate bowls of white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate to add variety without much extra effort.

CHICK FLICKS

After you’re done pampering each other, put on your dressing gowns and slippers, and get comfortable watching a classic chick flick. This would also be a great time to pair up and give each other neck and shoulder massages.

As Anne Lamott once wrote – “Joy is the best makeup”, so have a pampering night in with the girls and give yourself that beautiful glow that comes from being happy and relaxed!
Relax and unwind

Well, with a list SO long you'll soon be struggling to decide what NOT to do, you've definitely come to the right place! See below for a vast array of options catering to all party styles and personalities.

BEFORE VIEWING THE ACTIVITIES, CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING STEPS...

STEP 1
Speak to your bride-to-be and find out what sort of hens party she's after. If she doesn't know that you're throwing a hens party AT ALL, enlist the help of some family and friends. Completing this step will give you a starting point for your planning and mean that your beautiful hen will really love what you organise for her!

STEP 2
Once you know what type of hens party you're planning (e.g. naughty night out, an event that grandparents and friends can feel comfortable attending, etc.) check the list below. You can then mix and match activities/options to create a party that will be perfect for YOUR hen!

STEP 3
Have the most AMAZING time with your hen and her girls! After all, planning the ultimate party is one thing - but experiencing it with your closest friends is what it's all about!

8 GIRLS, A MINIBUS, A DRIVER & A NO-HOLDS BARRED HEN NIGHT!

24/7/2018

How a minibus and driver = a no holds barred hens night!
AUTHOR: PETA OF 'CAR RENTAL BUDDY'
It’s amazing to know what you can get up to once you leave the kids and the other half at home; heading off to enjoy the night with one of your girlfriends who is about to take the plunge into marriage. As we get older, the mischievousness that we got up to in our younger years seems to vanish. But it does come out on the odd occasion!

Now the standard hen night usually involves some sort of drinking and parading – and that should still continue. But there is usually the stay at the hotel, home or spa.

Why not do things a little different and opt for an experience-hopping hen do instead?

Hire a driver and a minivan for the day; I assure you that you’ll be able to pack in more experiences and more fun!

Here’s how:

YOUR OWN PERSONAL CHAUFFEUR FOR CLUB AND BAR HOPPING

Now this obviously depends where you are based in the world. If you are based in a city where the bars are quite far to get to, the last thing you want to be doing is jumping in different cabs every time you want to move to the next location, racking up an expensive bill. Instead, opt for a driver for the day who will be waiting for you, taking you wherever you want to go.
A bar hopping hens party

GETTING BACK TO NATURE

The club scene not for you?

Take in the fresh air of the countryside and enjoy the scenic views that your driver takes you to instead. You girls can go to the beach, go for a walk, have a picnic with some drinks, and/or just take in each other’s company; then decide to go home when you are ready.
Visit the beach, the forest, a cafe for your bridal shower or hens night

A MINI ROAD-TRIP

Another option is to make a complete day of it by visiting spots as part of a day-long road trip.

For example, you may start at your accommodation and then drive up the coastline; listening to your favourite tunes and doing a sing-along. Stop off at a cafe for a bite to eat or some lunch, and then make your way to the next location. This second part of the trip could include games or gossip – just make sure that the driver isn’t someone you know!
Plan a stunning bridal shower lunch

HOW CAN YOU MAKE THIS HAPPEN?

The best thing you can do is use Car Rental Buddy, who do car hire comparisons worldwide. That way you can find an option in your city. It shouldn’t cost more than $300.00 for the day, which is less than $40pp.

Not bad for a full day out travelling, right?!

Before you book your hen do?

Select some activities and make a rough itinerary. For Every Hen has some great inspiration, with all sorts of options such as kayaking, arts, food, wine and even dance. So have a browse and see what kind of activities might interest your hen group – then take the stress out of travelling to each experience by hiring a mini bus and a driver!

5+ GAMES TO PLAY WITH YOUR TOPLESS WAITER!

18/7/2018

Picture
AUTHOR: COURTNEY JONES OF 'MAGIC MEN'
Are you wondering what types of games (if any at all!) your topless waiter will be willing to play at your best friend's hen's? See below for the answer to this burning question!

GAMES TO PLAY WITH YOUR TOPLESS WAITER

HENTASTIC MEMORY
We’re starting off with an olide but a goodie!

Get all the friends of the hen to write down a memory shared between them and put the memories in a bowl. Have your handsome waiters read out the memories. If the hen guesses correctly who the memory is from, then everyone drinks! If she gets it wrong, the hen must drink!

Remember to have a few drinks up your sleeves first; we find hens get more creative with their memories with liquid courage.
Picture
HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR GROOM?
Prior to the evening of your hens party, have the hen’s soon-to-be husband answer a series of questions about her. On the night of the hen party, have your waiters read out the questions for your hen to answer. Every non-match answer with her beau she drinks; and every correct match, the group drinks!

A great question: Who is your bride’s favourite Magic Men stripper?!
Picture
THAT'S MY SONG
Get your phones and cameras ready for this game!

Everyone is given two current songs on a piece of paper. If one of these songs is heard during the night, then the person with that song must dance for its duration. It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing, you must dance. And dance like you’ve never danced before!

This is one of the more hilarious hen party games we’ve seen, with many videos and photos taken to remember the cringe-worthy moment for years to come!

Tip: If you’re waiting for a Magic Men show to start when your song comes on, you might be lucky and one of our topless waiters will join you, saving you from complete embarrassment.
PHOTO CHALLENGE
This does require some planning, but we promise it will be worth it!
Split the group into teams, with each group given a list of challenges to complete. The group who completes the most within a set amount of time are the winners.
Some example challenges include:
VIDEO CHALLENGES:
Sing to a stranger
Stand up and yell “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!” in a crowded place
Burst out into song and dance in a crowded place

PHOTO CHALLENGES:
Find a person with the biggest muscles
Plank in the strangest place
Hug a bouncer
If you’re ever at a Magic Men show you can add ‘Find a Channing Tatum lookalike’ to the list!
Picture
PLEASE DON'T SEND THAT
Sometimes you just want a couple of hours during the hen’s night where no-one is on their phone, when you can just enjoy each other’s company. This may be during a meal, during pre-drinks or when you’re waiting for our hunks to show you why they’re the best in the business in Australia!

Let your group know when it’s a no-phone zone and anyone found breaking this rule will have to face the consequence. This consequence is letting the group type any message they want into the rule-breakers phone and sending it to their entire contact list. Now that’s one way to ensure no one will break the rule!

LOOKING TO SPICE UP YOUR PARTY?

HERE ARE SOME CHEEKIER GAMES & ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR MAGIC MEN TOPLESS WAITERS!
  • Take scandalous photos in compromising positions
  • Start a game of truth or dare and ask your topless waiter to assist in hosting
  • Ask your topless waiter to give each and every girl a lap dance
  • Reverse the roles and have the girls partake in a lap dance competition on your topless waiter – make him the judge!
  • Indulge in his strong hands and have him give the girls a massage
  • Blindfold the girls and play pin the penis... except with your topless waiter as the model instead of a poster of a stripper!
  • Ask your topless waiter to lie down and do body shots off him (learn how below)
Picture

THE ART OF CONDUCTING A BODY SHOT:

STEP 1: THE SALT
Lick the salt. It’s all about the salt. The salt is the sinfully and cheeky part of the body shot. Depending on how daring you are (and, of course, your Magic Men), you could put the salt on his neck, his chest or his arms.

STEP 2: THE TEQUILA
Sip the shot. The tequila shot can be placed or poured onto any part of your topless waiter that is flat and firm (use your imagination!). The rippling six-pack is always a fun place to start – if any bit of the shot spills over onto his stomach you can easily lick it off.

STEP 3: THE LEMON
Take the lemon. Just as you’d finish a hot date with a kiss, no body shot can be complete without a lil’ mouth-to-mouth citrus sensuality! Once again, if you’re daring enough, place the lemon wedge in-between his lips and, after your shot, wash down the taste of tequila with a refreshing lemon!

WHY MASSAGE IS THE ULTIMATE INDULGENCE & A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY BRIDE-TO-BE

Why massage is a must do for every bride
AUTHOR: MITURI OF ‘NIM-VEDA AUSTRALIA’
Okay, so let’s tell the truth!

It’s frivolous to pretend that brides-to-be are cool cucumbers in the weeks leading up to their weddings, right?

No matter what you’re hearing from your bridesmaids, or saying if you’re in the wedding planning group to the blushing bride; we all know it’s time to face the facts.

Being blasé about the wedding just isn’t happening!

Though this is an event to remember for the rest of her life (for good reasons, hopefully), days leading up to the big event for most brides-to-be are full of angst, stress and general nervousness – I think we can all agree, not a good place to be.

So, what can we do to lessen the pressure and help release the pent up tension and stress before one of the most important days of her life?

We’re glad you asked, because one of the very best things you can do for your upcoming bride is to gently nudge them in the direction of a good, old, hearty massage – no pun intended. A great hen’s party option if you ask us!

Not only will a wholesome massage calm and sooth the stressed out bride, but this ancient practice has a multitude of health benefits as well.

Let’s knead these knots out...

1. MASSAGE HAS A MULTITUDE OF HEALTH BENEFITS

Massage is one of those hard to find, beautiful inconsistencies of life. Most of us would be hard pressed finding something that feels as magical as massage while being great for us too.

It’s like having a guilty pleasure you don’t have to hide from anyone. If you ask us, it’s a keeper; like ice-cream in front of a warm fire on a freezing cold winter’s day (minus all of the sinful associated accountabilities).

Massage has a wide variety of properties that improves health; some of which include better blood circulation, improved flexibility and mobility, quicker rehabilitation of muscular injuries, reduced stress and much more. Here’s a more detailed list of massage benefits in case you still need some convincing on why this would be the ultimate hen’s party idea!

Regular massages help us take care of a stressed out bride and also serves as a unique and memorable experience –basically, it’s a win-win!

2. MASSAGE IS AN ANCIENT REMEDY, SO IT’S GOT TO BE GOOD

Massage has been used by our ancestors for centuries now.

Practiced in countries such as India, China, Greece and Egypt (to mention a few) massage was once a necessity instead of the luxury it is in the modern world, and it was believed to be a pivotal precautionary measure to keeping sickness away.

Unfortunately the concept of massage has slowly been degraded as a potential healing solution to one that many of us associate with extra money to spend. However, there is now considerable evidence that advocates massage as a therapeutic solution to many of the common day ailments we face. One that not only saves us money in the future as a precautionary means rather than a cure (in terms of diseases such as stress, etc. going untreated for too long), but best of all, one that is completely natural.

It’s a perfect solution for brides that need some much needed unwinding before their big days!

3. MASSAGE DOESN’T JUST MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD, IT MAKES YOU LOOK GOOD TOO

When you’re good on the inside it shows, which is probably the single most important feeling any bride should be experiencing on her day.

Remember the saying, beauty is only skin deep? Though this may be true for our souls (another blog topic!), when it comes to our health, it is an entirely different matter. When we feel healthy within, it’s probably going to show on the outside.

This is why we’re constantly being barraged with messages of how we need to pay more attention to what we put in our body. For years now, medical research has strongly suggested a significant correlation between stress and ailments such as the cold and flu, to more serious life threatening diseases as well.

And sickness and feeling under the weather is the last thing any bride is going to want to have to deal with on her wedding day, so massage is a lifesaver – literally!
Massage makes you look AND feel good - exactly what every bride-to-be needs

In all honesty – stress is just one more thing to stress about. Massage helps to alleviate anxiety, which in turn makes us feel and look better.
The peaceful calmness that lasts long after a massage ends should be reason enough to gift this wonderful art our ancestors have been using for centuries to our favourite bride-to-be.

Massage is a wonderful gift for anyone, and frankly, who deserves some tender, loving care more than a new bride? No one!

Creative workshops for your hens party, bridal shower or kitchen tea!
AUTHOR: IAIN OF 'CLASSBENTO'
Is the bride-to-be a creative soul? Perhaps an introvert who prefers a calmer activity with a smaller group? Or someone who just loves to be a bit different?

A creative workshop could be the perfect option for her hens party, bridal shower or kitchen tea!

It’s easy to organise, and will be an unforgettable experience.

WHAT ARE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS?

Creative workshops are all about the fun and relaxation that comes with learning an art and creating something beautiful. You’ll be guided by passionate experts, who will provide you with all the knowledge and ingredients you’ll need to learn a new crafty skill. Unleash your imagination while having a great time with your friends.

JUST SOME OF THE WORKSHOPS YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM

FLOWERS
Try Ikebana flower arranging - learn about the history and techniques behind this Japanese art while you apply it hands-on to create your very own graceful arrangement. Or create bouquets or flower crowns at one of Sydney’s pristine beaches, under the guidance of an expert florist.

FOOD
If you’re a group of foodies, try making your own macaroons or chocolate. And if you’re more into the eating than the cooking, you can draw your dessert and eat it too, in a fun watercolour painting session!

Alternatively, you may want to discover how tea and chocolate can be paired, and if you’re adventurous, perhaps even tea and cheese (the pairings generate subtle third flavours that you’ll pleasantly discover).

A GIFT THAT LASTS
If you’d like to take away something lasting to remember the occasion by, invite your group to a candle making class where you can choose your own scents and colours.

You could even try a terrarium making class and design your own petite garden landscapes. It’s like the adult version of a dollhouse – you decide what goes in! Terrariums are super easy to maintain, and will beautify your and the bride’s home or office for many years to come.
Terrarium Creative Workshops
Prefer something to wear? Why not embark on a jewellery making crafternoon, where you’ll get to make unique artisan necklaces, earrings and more.

Once she’s married, it may be harder to get her by herself; so this may be one of your last opportunities to do something really girly. Try painting pretty, petite pebbles, and even string them up to create your own original jewellery.
